Information and Communication Technology Department
The Information and Communication Technology Department has a technical and service-provider role. It provides day-to-day electronic services to ALECSO’s General Directorate and technical and administrative departments. It also proposes and implements scientific and academic projects and programs on the use of ICT in all ALECSO’s fields of action.
The ICT Department’s vision and goals are closely aligned with ALECSO’s priorities and Strategic Plan, as well as with the UN vision on the role of education in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (2016-2030), as expressed through Goal 4 which aims to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning for all”. This vision was also set out in the Incheon Declaration, adopted by the World Education Forum held in South Korea, under the theme: “Education 2030: Towards inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning for all”, which provides that “Information and Communication Technologies must be harnessed to strengthen education systems, knowledge dissemination, information access, quality and effective learning, and more effective service provision.”
