The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization took part in the 93rd session of the Palestinian Children Educational Affairs Council, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo on June 21-25, 2026.
ALECSO was represented by a delegation comprising Dr. Mohamed Mostafa Kamal, Director of the Institute of Arab Research and Studies; Dr. Jilan Sharaf, Secretary of Educational Affairs at the Institute; and Dr. Hiam Saber, Professor in the Department of Education at the same institution.
The meeting addressed the state of education in the occupied Palestinian territories, including challenges arising from Israeli practices, as well as the conditions of general and higher education in Palestine, with particular focus on Al-Quds. Discussions also covered the impact of the separation wall and its serious repercussions on education, in addition to issues affecting Palestinian students in Arab countries.
