ALECSO Director-General Receives Syrian Ambassador to Tunisia

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, received H.E. Mr. Mohammad Mohammad, Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Republic of Tunisia, on June 8, 2026, at the Organization’s headquarters in Tunis. The meeting was attended by Mr. Alaa Mohamed Al Durra, Consul of the Syrian Arab Republic in Tunis.

The Director-General welcomed the Ambassador and emphasized the importance of strengthening joint Arab cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and science. He highlighted ALECSO’s role in supporting Arab countries through various programs and initiatives.

The meeting also addressed ways to enhance cooperation between ALECSO and Syria, and reviewed a number of the Organization’s programs and projects aimed at supporting development efforts and capacity-building in its areas of expertise.

For his part, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation for ALECSO’s significant role in advancing joint Arab action and its efforts to develop the education, culture, and science sectors across the Arab world. He affirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with ALECSO and benefiting from its expertise and programs.
