H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, paid a visit, on 4 June 2026, to H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Abdullah Al-Sinani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Tunisia, at the Embassy headquarters in Tunis.
At the outset of the meeting, the Director-General reiterated his sincere congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, on the occasion of his being awarded the Supreme Arab Cultural Excellence Medal, in recognition of his distinguished efforts in promoting Arab culture, strengthening its presence, and safeguarding its civilizational heritage, as well as for the sustained attention accorded by Oman to joint Arab cultural action.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to reinforce consultation and cooperation between ALECSO and its Member States, and reflects a shared commitment to advancing partnerships in the fields of education, culture, science, and communication, in alignment with sustainable development objectives and in support of joint Arab action.
Discussions focused on the existing cooperation between ALECSO and the Sultanate of Oman and explored avenues for further enhancement, particularly through the implementation of joint programmes and projects, the exchange of expertise, and the promotion of initiatives aimed at strengthening education, culture, and science systems across the Arab region.
The Director-General expressed his appreciation for Oman’s active role in supporting joint Arab action and for its valuable contributions to ALECSO’s programmes and initiatives. He also commended the constructive cooperation between the Organization and relevant Omani institutions.
For his part, the Ambassador reaffirmed Oman’s commitment to supporting ALECSO’s efforts and to further consolidating cooperation in pursuit of shared objectives, thereby contributing to the advancement of development, knowledge, and culture in Arab countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties underscored the importance of sustained coordination, consultation, and cooperation to further enhance ALECSO’s role in serving joint Arab action and fulfilling the aspirations of its Member States in the fields of education, culture, and science.
