As part of the implementation of its “ALECSO Science Gate” project, and in continuation of its efforts to strengthen cooperation and open new channels of communication among scientific competencies, including academics, researchers, graduate students, as well as scientific and research institutions across Arab countries, the Department of Science and Scientific Research at ALECSO held, on February 17, 2026, an Introductory Meeting (via Zoom) on the “ALECSO Science Gate”. The meeting was attended by scientific research officials from several scientific institutions across the Arab world.
Dr. Mohamed Sanad Abu Darwish, Director of Science and Scientific Research, offered a detailed presentation in which he introduced ALECSO, its core goals, and the projects undertaken by the Department. He shed special lights on the “ALECSO Science Gate” project, the first of its kind in the Arab world, with its slogan: “Knowledge Shared is Knowledge Multiplied.” He highlighted its role as the first Arab digital platform designed to build bridges of communication among Arab academics, research centers, and international scientific institutions.
The presentation outlined the strategic pillars of the ALECSO Science Gate, including, in particular, establishing a unified database of Arab scholars and experts, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and scientific output, and supporting the selection of competencies for the implementation of scientific projects. It also reviewed the Science Gate’s key technical features and its ability to integrate with international research platforms such as Scopus and ORCID. Recent 2024 statistics were presented, demonstrating the Science Gate’s growing user base across the Arab region and globally, positioning it as a vital tool for fostering innovation and collaborative scientific research.
Dr. Abu Darwish took this opportunity to invite the representatives of the participating Arab scientific research institutions to contribute to making known the Science Gate and encourage academics and researchers to register through its official website: http://alecso-science-gate.org
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants commended this pioneering initiative, emphasizing the importance of the ALECSO Science Gate as a strategic step toward unifying Arab research efforts. They described it as a qualitative leap in promoting digital innovation and enhancing the presence of Arab expertise within the global scientific landscape.
