H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, took part in the opening session of the meeting of the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States, convened at Senior Officials level. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Cairo on February 4, 2026, in preparation for the Council’s 117th session at Ministerial level.
The meeting discussed a range of economic and social issues, including the promotion of joint Arab action, follow-up on the implementation of decisions from the previous session, and the preparation of draft resolutions to be submitted to the upcoming ministerial meeting.
Discussions also focused on priority files, including economic and social issues to be submitted to the forthcoming Arab Summit, the development of mechanisms for Arab cooperation in social and developmental fields, as well as updates on the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and the Arab Customs Union project, all in pursuit of deeper economic integration.
