ALECSO Director-General inaugurates 23rd Meeting of Secretaries-General of Arab National Commissions 

 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, inaugurated the 23rd Meeting of Secretaries-General of the Arab National Commissions for Education, Culture, and Science, held on December 6, 2025 in Cairo, Egypt.

In his opening speech, the Director-General stressed that this meeting offers a renewed opportunity to strengthen cooperation and coordination between ALECSO’s General Directorate and National Commissions. The meeting, he added, enables consultation and exchange of expertise to optimize the implementation and follow-up of programs and projects and enhance effectiveness in achieving shared goals.

The Director-General pointed out that ALECSO seeks, as part of its mandate, to promote Arab intellectual unity through education, culture, and science, and to raise educational, cultural, and scientific standards in the region. He highlighted the importance of developing and strengthening ALECSO’s networks of schools and academic chairs, as they offer a space that embodies the spirit of belonging to the joint Arab educational and cultural project.

The Director-General expressed hope that the meeting would yield promising outcomes and significant recommendations that serve ALECSO’s noble mandate. He took this opportunity to commend Egypt for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to all participants. He also thanked the Egyptian National Commission for providing all the necessary conditions to ensure the success of this meeting.
