H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, attended, on December 7, 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the inauguration of the 3rd edition of the “Arab Narrative Days” event.
The event was inaugurated under the patronage of HRH Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, and HRH Princess Maha bint Mohammed Al-Faisal, Secretary-General of the Center, in the presence of several dignitaries and relevant experts.
In his remarks on this occasion, Prince Turki Al-Faisal stressed the importance of showcasing the distinctive features of Arab-Islamic art within the broader spectrum of human aesthetic creativity. He emphasized, in this regard, the role of Saudi Arabia, the land of the Two Holy Mosques, as the first cradle for the emergence and development of this art across the ages, and hailed the “Arab Narrative Days” initiative which contributes to the Kingdom’s promotion of Arab civilizational achievements. He commended the significant level of cooperation between the Center and ALECSO, and the signing of a cooperation agreement that paves the way for the implementation of a series of joint activities.
For his part, the Director-General expressed appreciation of the fruitful cooperation between ALECSO and the Center, founded upon a shared vision, and commended the choice of Arab-Islamic art as the central theme of the third edition of the “Arab Narrative Days” event.
During the opening ceremony, Prince Turki Al-Faisal expressed support for the Director-General’s proposal to establish the “ALECSO Chair for Arab-Islamic Crafts,” viewing it as an exemplary platform for highlighting Arab civilizational excellence.
