The 10th International Conference on ICT and Digital Accessibility kicked off on December 8, 2025 at the Kuwait College of Science and Technology. The Conference was held in parallel with the Second Forum on Assistive Technology for Special Needs, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila, Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs, who stressed, in her opening remarks, the importance of enhancing digital inclusion and developing technology-based solutions that support the rights of persons with disabilities.
Speaking on behalf of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of ICT, highlighted ALECSO’s efforts in supporting digital transformation across the Arab world and in developing relevant legislative and ethical frameworks, particularly the ALECSO Charter on AI Ethics, in addition to programs designed to promoting Arabic Sign Language and develop digital resources for persons with disabilities.
H.E. Dr. Khalid Al-Begain, President of Kuwait College of Science and Technology, underlined the College’s commitment to supporting scientific research and innovation in the fields of digital accessibility and strengthening regional and international cooperation in this area.
The Conference was held as part of implementing the Second Arab Decade for Persons with Disabilities (2023–2032). It featured scientific sessions and workshops led by international experts in assistive technology and artificial intelligence, along with presentations showcasing Arab experiences and joint training and research initiatives.
The event is designed to enhance digital innovation in the Arab region and support Kuwait’s efforts in building a more inclusive and empowering educational environment for persons with disabilities.
