ALECSO organizes Forum on Modern Educational Thought at the Lebanese University

 

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (Education Department) organized, on December 11–12, 2025, jointly with the Lebanese National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, and with the support of the Lebanese University (Institute of Social Sciences), the Forum on Modern Educational Thought, under the theme of: “Designing New Learning Environments : Between the Human Dimension and Technological Innovation.”

The Forum brought together prominent experts specializing in humanities, social sciences, and information technology from across the Arab world, along with academics, researchers, and MA and PhD students from Lebanese higher education institutions. It also featured the participation of media professionals and representatives from civil society organizations.

The Forum addressed a set of themes reflecting the current challenges facing  modern education, including:

  • Transition from the traditional school to the smart school;
  • Strengthening the human dimension in the digital educational space amid AI development;
  • Artificial intelligence as a partner in building personalized and human-centered learning;
  • Balancing human values and technology within the educational environment;
  • Digital inclusion in higher education;
  • Inclusive and sustainable education issues.

The Forum was held under the supervision of  Dr. Rami Iskander, Director of Education at ALECSO, Dr. Amira El-Solh, Secretary-General of the Lebanese National Commission, and Dr. Hussein Abou Rida, Head of the Research Center at the Institute of Social Sciences at the Lebanese University.
