ALECSO participates in Symposium on “Multilingualism in International Organizations”

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) took part in a Symposium on “Multilingualism in International Organizations,” organized by the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language on December 15, 2025 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

During the second session of the Symposium, dedicated to the efforts of organizations and institutions to enhance the presence of the Arabic language outside the Arab world, Dr. Mourad Rifi, Director of the Rabat-based Arabization Coordination Bureau, showcased ALECSO’s efforts to empower the Arabic language both within and beyond the Arab world,  through its plans, initiatives, and projects designed to that end. He highlighted ALECSO’s harmonious and integrated action to promote the development of Arabic language resources, a strategic objective and a key priority for ALECSO’s technical departments and subsidiary institutions.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Washmi, Secretary-General of King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language, noted that this Symposium was held as part of the celebration of UNESCO’s launch of the Multilingualism Framework. The Symposium featured three sessions in which the Academy’s relevant efforts were showcased, along with the efforts and initiatives of UNESCO, ICESCO, and other relevant bodies and institutions.   These sessions came out with significant recommendations that were read out at the closing of the Symposium.
