In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the League of Arab States—coinciding with two decades since the emergence of the modern concept of “Dialogue among Civilizations”, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States organized a Cultural Salon titled : “Dialogue of Civilizations After Two Decades: The Future of Inter-Cultural Dialogue for Peaceful Coexistence.”
The convening of this event proceeded from the General Secretariat’s commitment to strengthening intercultural dialogue as a fundamental pillar for promoting mutual understanding among peoples, building societies based on mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, and addressing shared challenges such as stereotypes, discrimination, racism, and hate speech.
The event, held on December 21, 2025 at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, sought to shed light on the evolution of the concept of “Dialogue among Civilizations” over the past couple of decades, review the relevant achievements and challenges amid the political, economic, and technological transformations, and explore ways to develop new mechanisms to enhance intercultural dialogue.
ALECSO was represented at this event by Mr. Abdelhadi Ghemari, Project Coordinator at the Culture Department.
