The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education (based in Riyadh), took part, on December 22, 2025, in the opening of a specialized training workshop on the Arab Model for Quality and Excellence in General Education, targeted at the managerial staff of the Tunisian Ministry of Education.
In his opening remarks, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, commended the continuous efforts exerted by the Tunisian Ministry of Education in developing education and improving learning outcomes. He also praised the efforts of Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mudaires and his assistants at the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education to enhance the performance of educational systems, improve their outputs, and strengthen their competitiveness, so that education in Arab countries becomes more inclusive, equitable, and of higher quality. He emphasized that this workshop aims to strengthen partnerships for educational development in support of societal advancement and to benefit from Tunisia’s expertise in developing the Model and facilitating its application across Arab countries.
H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mudaires, Director-General of the Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education, also offered remarks in which he highlighted the strategic partnership with ALECSO in promoting the culture of quality in Arab countries. He commended the significant level of cooperation between the Center and the Tunisian Education Ministry as a strategic partner in implementing this Model, which is being developed by a group of experts and senior staff from the Tunisian Education Ministry.
For his part, H.E. Mr. Nourredine Nouri, Tunisian Minister of Education, stressed that the workshop is not merely a training activity, but rather an interactive intellectual platform for sharing expertise and exploring prospects for developing educational policies on sound scientific foundations. These foundations rest on performance indicators, institutionalize quality as a core value, and adopt excellence as a working approach in promoting educational decision-making and guiding reform processes.
