ALECSO Holds the Eighth Extraordinary Session of the General Conference

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) held, on September 13, 2025, the 8th Extraordinary Session of its General Conference at its headquarters in Tunis.

The session was chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in its capacity as President of the General Conference, represented by H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saqr, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Tunisia, on behalf of H.H. Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Saudi Minister of Culture, and President of the Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture and Science.

The session was attended by H.E.  Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, along with heads of Arab delegations, including Their Excellencies Ministers, Ambassadors, Deputy Ministers, and Members of the Executive Board, representing their respective countries.

The meeting agenda included the appointment of “Assistant Director-General” of ALECSO. Following deliberations, the General Conference decided to re-announce the vacancy of the position of Assistant Director-General, with nominations to be presented at the upcoming 28th  Regular Session of the General Conference, scheduled to be held in the first half of 2026.
