The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) hosted, on July 3, 2025, H.E. Mr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), as Guest of Honor of the “ALECSO Talks” series. The event was attended by Arab ambassadors to the Republic of Tunisia, along with prominent intellectuals, academics, and media professionals.
In his statement on this occasion, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, expressed his deep appreciation to Mr. Ahmed Al Jarwan, commending his valuable contributions to the fields of parliamentary diplomacy, promotion of the culture of tolerance, support for humanitarian causes, and sustainable development. He reaffirmed ALECSO's commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at promoting tolerance and peace, in alignment with Arab values.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Sanad Abu Darwish, Director of Science and Scientific Research at ALECSO, made welcoming remarks in which he recalled that the “ALECSO Talks” series is held in recognition and appreciation of the contributions of prominent Arab scholars and intellectuals, offering an opportunity to benefit from their experience and expertise in various fields.
The event featured a documentary film highlighting the key milestones in the professional and humanitarian career of Mr. Ahmed Al Jarwan, from parliamentary and diplomatic work to pioneering humanitarian initiatives, along with his efforts in promoting world peace, coexistence, and intercultural dialogue.
Mr. Ahmed Al Jarwan delivered a lecture titled : “Dialogue in Light of Values: When Tolerance Becomes a Culture and Peace a Strategic Choice”, in which he highlighted the importance of strengthening human values as a foundation for building societies, and the role of educational and media institutions in fostering dialogue and mutual respect.
The event saw the signing of a MoU between ALECSO and the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, designed to further enhance cooperation in implementing joint events and activities.
