The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) took part, on April 26, 2025, in the China-Tunisia Cultural Exchange Forum, dedicated to exploring opportunities for cooperation in the publishing sector. The Forum was held as part of the 39th Tunis International Book Fair, with China being the Guest of Honor for this edition.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Huang Zhijian, Chairman of the China Publishing Group, emphasized the significance of the Forum, describing it as a landmark event for China as the Guest of Honor for this year's fair.
Discussions in the Forum focused on cultural exchange and cooperation in the publishing sector between Tunisia and China. Participants reviewed other similar cooperation experiences between China and other countries, and explored the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence in the expansion of digital publishing.
Representing ALECSO, Ms. Nesrin Ghnaim, Head of External Relations, reaffirmed the Organization's commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with China. She indicated that cultural exchange remains a cornerstone of international partnerships, and recalled the long-standing and deep-rooted historical ties between China and the Arab world, dating back to the era of the ancient Silk Road.
