The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) hosted the 57th session of the Higher Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action. The expert-level meeting commenced at ALECSO headquarters in Tunis on April 14, 2025, and ran for two days.
The Expert Committee meeting was chaired by Minister Plenipotentiary Dr. Raed Al-Jubouri, Director of the Department of Arab Organizations and Federations at the League of Arab States (Technical Secretariat of the Higher Coordination Committee), and was attended by representatives from specialized Arab organizations and joint Arab action institutions, who are members of the Higher Coordination Committee.
The meeting agenda featured a range of items, notably the role of joint Arab action organizations and institutions in supporting post-conflict countries, especially the State of Palestine (Gaza Reconstruction Project), as well as the reconstruction of Syria.
Other items on the agenda included the initiative of H.E. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, titled “Second Arab Decade for Persons with Disabilities (2023–2032),” which was adopted at the 33rd Arab Summit on May 16, 2024, as well as artificial intelligence and its ethical challenges, and the Arab Digital Platform for Sustainable Development.
The Expert Committee meeting concluded with a set of recommendations to be submitted to the Higher Coordination Committee during its meeting on April 16, 2025, under the chairmanship of the Secretary-General of the Arab League.
