H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, received, on February 10, 2025 at ALECSO headquarters, a parliamentary delegation from the Republic of Iraq, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Abdul Hakim Al-Qassab, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of Tunisia.
The Director-General briefed the Iraqi delegation on the main achievements of ALECSO and its subsidiary institutions over the past decades. He took this opportunity to highlight the significant level of cooperation between ALECSO and Iraq, as well as to commend Iraq’s continuing support to the Organization so that it can best pursue its mandate.
During the meeting, the directors of ALECSO's technical departments made brief presentations about the major projects and programs currently being implemented by ALECSO in collaboration with Member States, as well as those scheduled for the coming years, in the fields of education, higher education, scientific research, culture, and ICT.
For his part, Dr. Adel Hashoush Jaber Al-Rikabi, Head of the Iraqi Parliamentary Delegation, expressed his pleasure to visit the headquarters of ALECSO, the Arab House of Expertise. He thanked the Director-General for providing this opportunity to learn about ALECSO and its educational, cultural, and scientific programs. He emphasized the significant responsibility incumbent upon ALECSO in view of the risks associated with the improper use of Social Media and Artificial Intelligence. He also commended ALECSO's initiative in launching the promising project of developing a “Common Framework of Reference for Arabic Language: Teaching, Learning, and Assessment.”
