Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, the Education Department organized, on January 28, 2025, the first (online) expert session for the project of “Developing a Common Framework of Reference Framework for the Arabic Language: Teaching, Learning, and Assessment.”
In his opening remarks, the Director-General of ALECSO highlighted the importance of this strategic Arab project aimed at promoting the dissemination of the Arabic language and enhancing its status among the world’s languages in terms of use and production across educational, cultural, scientific, and technological fields. He expressed appreciation of the ongoing partnership between ALECSO (the project’s executing body) and the Islamic Development Bank (the financial and technical sponsor), and commended the experts' active engagement in the project and their efforts to ensure its successful implementation.
Dr. Rami Iskander, Director of Education and General Coordinator of the Project, presented the broad lines of this strategic Arab initiative. He thanked all partners involved in the project and commended the efforts of the experts in charge of its implementation.
Dr. Kamal Hajjem, Education Expert at ALECSO, offered an overview of the project : its vision, goals, components, and implementation phases.
Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Naim, Scientific Supervisor of the project, presented the main items to be discussed during the expert session. He underlined the importance of this promising Arab project to be implemented by ALECSO, and commended the experts' dedication to its successful implementation.
Following the opening statements, the experts discussed the project’s components and shared their scientific observations and suggestions. They produced a set of practical recommendations designed to ensure the smooth and successful implementation of the project.
