On January 27, 2025, the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) hosted a scientific workshop titled “Digital Project Management for Digital Transformation in Higher Education.”
The event was organized by ALECSO in partnership with the Tunisia Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Al-Khawarizmi Computing Center(CCK).
In a speech delivered on his behalf by Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of ICT, the Director-General of ALECSO, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, stressed that digital transformation is now emerging as a solution to enhance the quality of education, especially in light of the rapid technological advances and the challenges facing higher education in the Arab world, along with the rapid population growth, the increasing demand for education, and the necessity of keeping pace with the current technological evolution. He noted that digital project management plays a crucial role in achieving this transformation, being a key tool for implementing technological initiatives most effectively. Digital transformation, he added, has now become an imperative to meet the requirements of modern times.
The workshop was attended by prominent professors, researchers, and experts, with nearly 200 participants from the academic community.
The workshop aimed to introduce the basic principles of digital project management through the PMP methodology, which involves stakeholder management, resource optimization, and risk management. It also sought to develop the professional skills of participants and strengthen their abilities in the management of digital projects.
