As part of the 2024 Cultural Season of the Institute of Arab Research and Studies, a subsidiary institution of ALECSO, a dialogue was held on December 15, 2024, addressing “The Mediterranean Idea in the Arab Mashreq.”
The event featured the participation of History Professor Dr. Mohamed Afifi, and the Director of the Institute, Dr. Mohamed Kamal.
The dialogue was moderated by Dr. Amani Fouad, Professor in the Department of Arabic Language Research and Studies. It was attended by prominent academics and researchers in contemporary Arab history.
Significant views and insights were put forward with regard to Arab identity as well as the historical, intellectual, and cultural ties between Mediterranean countries and Arab States.
