The Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ICT Department) held a virtual meeting, on December 4, 2024, with the Arab Expert Team to launch the preparation of the “Arab Charter for Artificial Intelligence Ethics.”
This project aims to formulate a reference charter that takes into consideration the Arab identity, cultural values, and ethical principles shared by Arab countries. It seeks to establish the foundations for developing laws and regulations that will provide a legal framework, ensure the responsible and safe use of AI technology, and build greater trust among governments, institutions, and users. It will also contribute to regional and international cooperation to make the most effective use of the AI technology.
