Director-General heads ALECSO’s Delegation at the World Business Angels Investment Forum in Manama and Signs MoU with WBAF

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, headed the ALECSO delegation at the World Business Angels Investment Forum, accompanied by Dr. Mohamed Sanad Abu Darwish, Director of Science and Scientific Research. 

The Forum was hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the high patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain.

WBAF is one of the major global conferences in the field of entrepreneurship,  serving as an international platform for discussions on issues related to innovation and startupping. It brings together thought leaders and investors to share ideas, forge new partnerships, and explore optimum ways of financing startups at local, regional, and global levels. 

The Forum features an intensive program covering entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology, and explores ways of promoting startup access to smart financing  and  enhancing sustainable entrepreneurship.

During the opening ceremony of the Forum, and in the presence HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with senior officials from Bahrain, and representatives of global and Arab institutions, the Director-General delivered a speech in which he expressed his gratitude to HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to all participants. He commended the efforts made by Bahrain to support innovative startups, particularly those launched by Arab youth driven by a passion to achieve personal success and to actively contribute to building the economies of their countries and promoting the advancement of their societies.

The Director-General highlighted ALECSO’s efforts and projects to support innovative startups,  which involve organizing workshops and other events aimed at building the capacities of Arab youth and startuppers, especially those involved in vital fields related to agricultural and health technology, and those offering innovative and sustainable solutions to environmental, food, and health challenges. 

The Director-General underlined the significant role of the Arab Youth Creativity Camps organized by ALECSO in stimulating innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as in providing opportunities for building networks among Arab youth.

During the Forum, the Director-General signed a Memorandum of Understanding  with Mr. Baybars Altuntas, WBAF Executive Director. The MoU is designed to foster cooperation between ALECSO and WBAF for the promotion of entrepreneurship and startupping across all Arab countries.
