The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences announced the results of the 27th edition of the Hamdan-ALECSO Award for Distinguished Educational Research for the year 2024.
This edition saw a significant increase in the number of participants, the highest since the launch of the award. 154 nominations were received from 11 Arab countries : Saudi Arabia (103), Egypt (17) , UAE (16) , Jordan (5), Oman (5), Qatar (2), Morocco (2) , Bahrain (1) , Palestine (1), Syria (1), and Kuwait (1). Four research papers were announced as winners.
In his statement on this occasion, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, highlighted the significant level of cooperation between ALECSO and the Hamdan Foundation. The Award, he added, encourages researchers and institutions to channel their energies toward scientific research and innovation, thus helping to explore new solutions to scientific challenges.
The Award is part of a scientific strategy seeking to create an interactive environment that motivates researchers to pursue their studies and research, which, in turn, would raise the level of education in Arab societies.
The Director-General stressed that the Award is not only about honoring winners but also seeks to inspire future generations to invest in science and develop their research skills. This is why ALECSO is keen on disseminating the results of the winning research studies, as part of its ongoing commitment to fostering an innovative and impactful scientific community that seeks to build a better future based on science and research as fundamental pillars for achieving sustainable development.
