The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (Department of Science and Scientific Research) organized, on October 31 - November 1, 2024 at its headquarters in Tunis, the First Scientific Days on Nutrition and Wound Healing.
The event was held in collaboration with the Pan African Wound Healing Association, the National Authority for Assessment and Accreditation in Healthcare, and the IHM Institute.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Mohamed Sanad Abu Darwish, Director of Science and Scientific Research, welcomed all participants, and conveyed the greetings of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and his wishes for the success of the Scientific Days.
Dr. Abu Darwish highlighted ALECSO's role in enhancing Arab, regional, and international cooperation in the fields of education, culture, science, and scientific research. He emphasized the Organization's ongoing efforts to promote joint Arab action in pursuit of sustainable development, to strengthen relations among regional and international partners, and to support multidisciplinary development initiatives.
The event saw the participation of a significant number of scientific experts from Tunisia, Africa, and Europe.
The first day featured a lecture on artificial intelligence in healthcare, presented by the Centre de Calcul El-Khawarizmi, which aroused significant interest on the part of participants.
On the second day, discussions focused on the impact of quality nutrition on wound healing.
A training session was organized during the Scientific Days, with the participation of international trainers in wound healing.
