ALECSO and Millennium@EDU sign Cooperation Agreement to enhance digital education in Arab countries

 

In a move to promote the use of educational technology in Arab countries, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) signed a Cooperation Agreement with Millennium@EDU Sustainable Education, on October 27, 2024, at ALECSO headquarters in Tunis. 

The agreement was signed by H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and Eng. Mario Franco, President of Millennium@EDU Sustainable Education, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of ICT and General Coordinator of the cooperation project.

The agreement is designed to develop educational technology projects and initiatives with the aim of enhancing digital inclusion in education across Arab countries. Key areas of collaboration include the development of digital skills, including artificial intelligence, as well as the organization of workshops and conferences to strengthen digital infrastructure in education, culture, and science.

This agreement is part of the ongoing partnership between ALECSO and Millennium@EDU, which began in 2015. Under this partnership, numerous joint projects and initiatives have been implemented in various Arab countries to promote access to digital technology in education.

In his remarks on this occasion, Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar stated that this agreement is a significant step in the process of enhancing  digital transformation in education across the Arab world. He reaffirmed ALECSO's commitment to promoting digital education, as part of achieving sustainable development goals.

For his part, Eng. Mario Franco commended the fruitful cooperation with ALECSO, indicating that the agreement opens up new prospects for future collaboration in the fields of education and technology, benefiting the rising generations in the Arab world.
