H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and his accompanying delegation, paid a visit to the Maritime Museum in Malta on September 26, 2024.
The visit provided an opportunity to explore the Museum's collections, which date back hundreds of years. The Director-General and his accompanying delegation were received by the Museum's Director who showcased the modern techniques and methods used for the preservation of maritime heritage, especially underwater heritage.
The Director-General emphasized, on this occasion, the importance that ALECSO attaches to tangible and intangible heritage, and its close cooperation with various Arab and international institutions to preserve heritage in all its forms, particularly underwater heritage, through various projects and initiatives implemented by the Organization. He indicated that ALECSO stands fully ready to collaborate with the Maritime Heritage Institute of Malta in the field of maritime heritage preservation and sustainability.
