The 10th session of ALECSO’s High-Level Forum for Heads of Scientific Research Councils and Bodies was held on September 11-12, 2024 at ALECSO headquarters, under the theme of “Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Arab Scientific and University Communities : Sharing and Promoting Experiences”.
The Forum saw the attendance of several ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, heads of scientific research bodies, institutions, and councils, along with specialized experts from Arab and foreign countries.
The Forum provided a valuable opportunity for all participants to learn about successful Arab and international experiences in the field of scientific research.
Sixteen Arab States participated in this session, namely Tunisia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Palestine, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Egypt, Sudan, Oman, Iraq, Kuwait, and Syria. A number of CEOs of Arab and international institutions and Arab diaspora scholars from Germany, France, USA, Spain and Britain were also in attendance.
The Forum came out with key recommendations, including:
- Building an Arab-global coalition from the participating institutions to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.
- Increasing cooperation with Arab scholars in Diaspora (opportunities and prospects).
- Seeking ways to foster creativity and innovation in higher education.
