The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) held, on August 20, 2024, the Eighth Meeting of the Permanent Advisory Committee on Scientific Research and Innovation.
The meeting was attended by the Committee members from Arab countries, and was designed to set out the broad lines of the Committee's work plan for the years 2024-2025.
Addressing the opening session of the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Sanad Abu Darwish, Director of the Department of Science and Scientific Research, started by conveying the greetings of ALECSO’s Director-General, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, to the Committee members, wishing them success in their work. He indicated that ALECSO is keen to contribute to the advancement of scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship to serve economic development in the Arab world.
The agenda of the meeting included a review of the projects of the Department of Science and Scientific Research for the financial cycle 2025-2026, approved by the ALECSO General Conference held on May 17, 2024, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It also included setting out the broad lines of the Committee’s work plan for the coming period.
Dr. Abu Darwish called on the members of the Committee to contribute with their scientific and practical expertise to the implementation of the Department's projects. He indicated that several members are involved in activities scheduled for 2024.
The Committee was also briefed on several activities and projects of the Department of Science and Scientific Research scheduled for 2025-2026.
