The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization extends its warmest congratulations to the State of Palestine on the inscription of the Monastery of Saint Hilarion in the Gaza Strip on the UNESCO List of World Heritage in Danger. This is the culmination of the successful efforts made by ALECSO in coordination with the delegation of the State of Palestine and a number of Member States of the World Heritage Committee.
This decision recognizes both the site's exceptional value and the need to protect it from imminent danger.
ALECSO stands ready, as always, to provide its experience and expertise to all Arab States in the preservation and inscription of heritage properties.
