On the sidelines of the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) participated, on July 24, 2024 in New Delhi, in a joint meeting held with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the Bahrain-based Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage,
The meeting, which was attended by the UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Culture and a number of ambassadors accredited to UNESCO, focused on the protection of World Heritage in Arab and Islamic countries,.
Dr. Humaid Al Nofali, Director of the Culture Department at ALECSO, offered a presentation showcasing ALECSO’s efforts in protecting World Heritage sites, particularly those at risk in the Arab world.
