ALECSO organizes Training Workshop on “Blended Learning and Methods for E-Learning and Smart Education”

 

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) organized, on July-14-16, 2024 in Cairo, Egypt, a training workshop on “Blended Learning and Methods for E-Learning and Smart Education”. The workshop took place on July 14-16, 2024 in Cairo, Egypt, in collaboration with the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, and under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and President of the Egyptian National Commission.

Over 35 participants from the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and Al-Azhar Institutes Sector, attended the workshop.

In his opening statement, the ALECSO representative, Eng. Bilel Amri, conveyed the greetings of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and his wishes for the success of the workshop. He expressed gratitude to the Egyptian National Commission for its cooperation with ALECSO in organizing this event, stressing ALECSO's commitment to cooperating with Member States to build capacities in all its fields of action.  

The ALECSO representative indicated that blended learning is one of the main trends in education, offering teachers and students unprecedented opportunities for interaction and access to diverse knowledge sources and updated educational content. Additionally, smart learning uses modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence and big data analytics, to provide a personalized learning experience tailored to the needs of each learner.

The workshop featured presentations on the concept of e-learning and its origins, evolution, current status, and future prospects, as well as on e-learning software and applications, and the ways to optimize their use.

Presentations were followed by rich discussions in which emphasis was laid on the  need for a set of mechanisms and regulations to provide a reference framework for the effective incorporation of modern technologies into education. Discussions also covered the use of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in e-learning.
