A delegation from Djibouti visits ALECSO

As part of ALECSO’s efforts to promote coordination among Arab States for the sharing of experience and expertise in the educational, cultural and scientific fields, and under the supervision of H.E. Director-General Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, and in coordination with the Tunisian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization received a delegation from the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and the Ministry of Youth and Culture of the Republic of Djibouti.

On May 27, 2024, the Director-General welcomed, in his office at ALECSO headquarters, the members of the delegation. The meeting addressed the  objectives of this visit and discussed issues of common interest in the fields of education, vocational training, and culture. The Director-General emphasized, on this occasion, the great interest that ALECSO attaches to supporting national educational and cultural institutions in Djibouti.

The first day of the visit (Monday, May 27, 2024) was devoted to a working session with the managerial staff of the National Pedagogical Center, the General Inspectorate of Educational Pedagogy, and the General Directorate of Programs and Training. The working session discussed ways of enhancing cooperation and supporting Djibouti’s efforts in the field of education.

The first day also involved a field visit (with the participation of a specialized team from ALECSO’s Education and Culture Departments) to the International Center for the Training of Trainers and Pedagogical Innovation, along with a visit to the National Center for Educational Technologies. These visits offered an opportunity to learn about the services provided by these centers and to gain a better insight into the Tunisian experience in terms of Arabization of education and the education of children with disabilities (Use of Braille for teaching visually impaired/blind children).

On the second day (May 28, 2024), field visits were organized to Tunisian cultural institutions, as well as to the National Museum of Bardo (with the participation of a specialized team from ALECSO’s Education and Culture Departments).

This experience will be extended to other countries. Work is currently underway to arrange visits to the Organization for delegations from the Comoros and Somalia, so that they know more about the activities and programs of ALECSO, the Arab house of expertise in the educational, cultural and scientific fields.
