H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), visited, on May 20, 2024, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, where he was received by H.E. Dr. Jamal bin Huwaireb, Executive Director of the Foundation
The Executive Director provided an overview of the projects and activities undertaken by the Foundation which produces the Global Knowledge Index, a comprehensive framework for understanding and measuring knowledge-related performance globally. The Foundation also anticipates the professions of the future and provides specialized training courses in this regard.
For his part, the Director-General of ALECSO expressed his thanks to the Executive Director of the Foundation for providing this opportunity to discuss mutual cooperation in serving the future of education. He also commended the role of the Foundation and the annual report it produces based on highly skillful and efficient research, which serves as a reference for relevant institutions in Arab countries.
The Director-General took this opportunity to highlight the role of ALECSO’s Observatory in preparing specialized bulletins and reports in ALECSO’s fields of action.
The meeting explored avenues for cooperation between the Foundation and ALECSO in the educational, cultural, and scientific fields. This involves learning from the Foundation’s experience and expertise in terms of report preparation, and sharing ALECSO’s educational and research resources and publications on the Foundation’s open platform.
The meeting also addressed cooperation in serving countries with specific needs in the teaching and learning of the Arabic language. It discussed signing a Memorandum of Understanding between ALECSO and the Knowledge Foundation, along with an executive program for the activities to be implemented as part of a partnership serving the mission and goals of both parties.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Jamal bin Huwaireb presented Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar with the Foundation’s Shield.
