27th  General Conference of ALECSO concludes

 

The 27th General Conference of ALECSO concluded its works on July 17, 2024, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, under the chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Yousef Al-Benyan, Saudi Minister of Education. The closing session was attended by H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, the Ministers, Heads of Arab National Commissions for Education, Culture and Science, the Members of ALECSO Executive Board, representatives from the League of Arab States, UNESCO, and ICESCO, and the Director-General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf State (ABEGS).

The General Conference approved the recommendations submitted to it by the Executive Board at its 121st  session held prior to the General Conference.

It is worth noting that the Executive Board had elected H.E. Mr. Hani Al-Muqbil bin Muqbil as Chairman of the Executive Board.

The General Conference also approved the ALECSO budget for the financial cycle 2025-2026, and the Final Accounts.

Sincere thanks were addressed to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for graciously hosting the meetings of the Executive Board and General Conference, on May 14-17, 2024.

Thanks were also extended to HH Prince Badr bin Farhan Al Saud, Chairman of the current (27th) session and Chairman of the Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, for the warm hospitality offered to all participants, as well as to H.E. Mr. Ahmed Al-Bulaihad, Secretary-General of the Saudi National Commission, for providing all conditions for the success of the meetings.
