ALECSO Director-General meets with Egyptian Culture Minister 

 

As part of his official visit to Egypt, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, met, on April 15, 2024 in Cairo, Egypt, with the Minister of Culture, H.E. Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani,.

The Minister commended the role played by ALECSO in promoting joint Arab action through its programs and activities implemented in the Arab countries, in pursuit of its strategic goals in its areas of competence. She stressed that the Egyptian Culture Ministry will work to provide all conditions of success for joint Arab action in a way aligned with ALECSO’s vision and goals.

For his part, the Director-General indicated that ALECSO is working in line with an integrated Arab agenda designed to promote sustainable development for Arab countries in ALECSO’s fields of action. He highlighted the key role played by Egypt, represented by the Culture Ministry, in promoting joint Arab cultural work, adding that ALECSO has developed strong relations with Egyptian governmental institutions sharing similar interests.

The Director-General reviewed aspects of cooperation between ALECSO and Egyptian institutions active in ALECSO’s fields of action, and the goals pursued during the next few years. He indicated the existence of an integrated plan designed for people with special needs in the field of culture in the Arab countries. 

The meeting addressed preparations for the joint organization of a conference that highlights the role of Arab women. It also discussed the prospects of  cooperation between the Cairo-based Institute of Arab Research and Studies and the relevant academic institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Culture.

At the end of the meeting, the Director-General offered the “ALECSO Shield” to the Egyptian Culture Minister, in appreciation of her efforts in support of ALECSO’s plans and programs.
