Director of Education Department moderates Parallel Thematic Session 4 on “Institutionalization and Valorization of Culture and Arts Education Ecosystems”

 

 

As part of the UNESCO World Conference on Culture and Arts Education, held on February 13-15, 2024, in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Dr. Rami Iskander, Director of the Department of Education at ALECSO, moderated a Parallel Thematic Session on “Institutionalization and Valorization of Culture and Arts Education Ecosystems”.

Culture and Education Ministers from Colombia, Djibouti, Czech Republic, Andorra, Greece, Uzbekistan, Burkina Faso, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, the Bahamas, Cuba, and the USA took part in this session. 

Participants underlined the importance of promoting culture and arts education, addressing challenges in this regard, particularly the lack of financial resources, providing the relevant human resources with adequate training, as well as raising awareness of the importance of culture and arts and their incorporation into education curricula. They also underscored the need to involve culture and arts officials and specialists in designing educational curricula, to promote a technology-based infrastructure that can help improve the quality of culture and arts education, and to benefit from the success stories shared during the session.
