On the sidelines of the workshop on “Blockchain-based Certificate Authentication and Prevention of Forgery”, organized on February 5-6, 2024 by ALECSO in collaboration with the Libyan Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Libyan National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, the ALECSO Delegation visited the Libyan National Commission for Education, Culture and Science on February 7, 2024, at its headquarters in Tripoli.
H.E. Dr. Musa Al-Magarif, Minister of Education, Chairman of the Libyan National Commission, received the ALECSO delegation which included Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of ICT Department, Dr. Farouk Kammoun, IT Expert, and Eng. Zied Maâzaoui, Software Specialist at the ICT Department.
The meeting discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the State of Libya and ALECSO. In particular, emphasis was laid on the authentication of university certificates and the prevention of forgery using the Blockchain technology, and ways to generalize the use of this technology in education and higher education institutions in Libya.
