The series of regional workshops on the “Arab Model for Quality and Excellence in Education” project, implemented by the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in partnership with ALECSO, was concluded on February 1, 2024.

The workshops, which ran over five days, were attended by more than 200 experts from Arab countries. The project’s technical team gave presentations about the Arab Model and the phases implemented so far.

In his opening remarks, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, underlined the importance of the strategic partnership between ALECSO and RCQE, and the added value that the Arab Model gives to the quality assurance system in education in the Arab countries. He noted that the Model provides a practical and flexible tool that helps gauge the quality of performance of educational institutions, in order to introduce the needed improvements.

The workshops offered participants the opportunity to exchange knowledge and expertise and put forward ideas and proposals to improve the Model.
