Institute of Arabic Manuscripts signs MoU with Mauritanian Institute for Research and Training in Heritage and Culture

 

 

Dr. Mourad Rifi, Director of the Institute of Arabic Manuscripts, and  Dr. Youba Ould Cheikna, Director of the Mauritanian Institute for Research and Training in Heritage and Culture, signed, on January 30, 2024  a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions.

In his remarks on this occasion, Dr. Rifi stated that the MoU is aligned with the role undertaken by the Institute of Arabic Manuscripts, being the Arab house of expertise in the field of Arabic manuscripts and heritage, and is designed to promote the Institute’s openness to scientific institutions in the Arab world, as directed by the Director-General of ALECSO, Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar.

The MoU covers three main areas: laboratory preparation, Manuscript collection and valorization in Mauritania, and scientific and professional training for the personnel of the Mauritanian Institute.
