The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) took part in a webinar on the future of education, organized by the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) on January 24, 2024, on the occasion of the World Teachers’ Day.
The webinar addressed the future of education and the changes that need to be made in order to promote a more equitable and inclusive quality education. It stressed the need to step up effort in order to transform commitments into concrete actions, as part of following up the outcomes of the Transforming Education Summit, and in line with the Education 2030 Agenda.
ALECSO was represented in this webinar by Mr. Hechmi Ardhaoui who conveyed the greetings of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, to all speakers and participants, and his thanks to the organizers of the webinar. He stressed that ALECSO is keen to transform commitments related to teacher empowerment into sustainable programs that contribute to enhancing the status of teachers and their crucial role in transforming education into a key deriver of development in the Arab countries.
