H.E. Mr. Muhammed Muhammed, Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Republic of Tunisia, paid a visit, on December 19, 2023, to H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO.
The Director-General welcomed the Ambassador, thanked him for the visit, and congratulated him on Syria’s return to its normal place to undertake its customary role. He highlighted the longstanding relations between ALECSO and Syria which has been playing a prominent role in promoting joint Arab action. He also commended Syria’s continuous support for the Organization, so that it can pursue its mandate, serve as a beacon of knowledge for successive generations, and empower the Arab cultural unity through education, culture and science.
The Director-General took this opportunity to present the main activities and programs undertaken by ALECSO, as part of its Action Plan 2023-2028, and to call on Syria to host activities that would further strengthen relations between the two parties.
For his part, the Syrian Ambassador thanked the Director-General for his significant role in boosting relations between Syria and ALECSO, and in enhancing cooperation with relevant Syrian institutions, which enables the Organization to benefit from the Syrian expertise in the educational, cultural and scientific fields. He also commended the role of the Syrian National Commission which plays a prominent role in strengthening relations with the Organization, and is keen to attend and actively participate in its activities.
