The 5th Arab Regional Meeting on Progress in Achieving Goal 4 of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals was held on November 1-2, 2023, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was designed to :
- Follow up on the outcomes of global and regional meetings dealing with education, specifically the Transforming Education Summit and the meetings of the SDG4 High-Level Steering Committee;
- Strengthen mechanisms for regional coordination;
- Develop a regional roadmap to promote the implementation of the Education 2030 Agenda;
- Strengthen commitment by Member States and all relevant stakeholders towards achieving Goal 4 and translating the commitments of the Transforming Education Summit into concrete actions.
The meeting was attended by representatives of relevant regional and international organizations and Arab education ministries.
ALECSO was represented by Dr. Rami Iskander, Director of Education Department and Acting Director of Culture Department, and Mr. Hechmi Ardhaoui, member of the technical team of the SDG4 High-Level Steering Committee.
