Launch of implementation phase of the project of developing a   Common Framework of Reference for the Arabic Language

 

 

During the high-level meeting held at ALECSO headquarters in Tunis, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, launched the implementation phase of the project of developing a “Common Framework of Reference for the Arabic language : Learning, Teaching and Assessment”, in the presence of key stakeholders and representatives from Arabic language academies. 

In his statement on this occasion, the Director-General underlined the crucial importance of this project which significantly serves the Arabic language at the cultural, developmental, and scientific levels. He noted that the idea of this project went through several phases, with several coordination meetings culminating in the adoption of the Reference Document of this project whose implementation was entrusted to ALECSO.  He reviewed the practical steps undertaken by the Organization to improve the quality of documents, prepare the implementation schedule, and set criteria for selecting the scientific committee and work teams.

The meeting, moderated by Dr. Rabia Gewieder, Project Coordinator, was also addressed by Dr. Rami Iskander, Director of Education Department, as well as by representatives of key stakeholders and language academies who commended the project and thanked the Organization for the excellent organization of this meeting.
