International Conference on Learning Loss concludes with Arab commitment to achieving the Education 2030 Agenda in the Arab region

 

 

The International Conference on “Learning Loss : Diagnosis and Remedies within a vision of Education Transformation” concluded on October 26, 2023. 

The Conference, placed under the high patronage of H.E. Mr. Ahmed Hachani, Tunisian Head of Government, was organized by ALECSO in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Education, UNICEF, and regional and international organizations, and with the participation of Arab Education Ministries.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, commended the spirit of cooperation and mutual support shown by the Arab, European and international delegations that took part in the Conference and worked together to diagnose the causes of learning loss and identify ways to tackle this problem in pursuit of a more equitable and inclusive quality education for all. He noted that the Conference was designed to mobilize efforts, enhance awareness, and strengthen collective commitment to accelerating progress towards achieving the Education 2030 Agenda in the Arab region. 

The outcomes of the conference were presented during the closing session, with emphasis on the need to unify mechanisms for joint action to address the root causes of learning loss and take the requisite response measures.
