ALECSO Director-General participates in the opening of the   Global Smart Education Conference 2023

 

 

The Global Smart Education Conference 2023 kicked off on August 18, 2023 in Beijing, China, under the theme of “Education Transformation and Data Governance”. 

The Conference brought together experts, scholars and front-line teachers from education, science & technology, and business circles to discuss the strategy and promotion path of digital transformation of education, explore the construction of regional smart education ecology and learning society, and share new theories, technologies, views and achievements of smart education.

The Conference attracted more than 300 international and local guests, and over 1,200 on-site participants.

The Director-General of ALECSO took part, remotely, in the opening session of the Conference. He indicated that ALECSO has fully realized the key role of science and technology in education transformation. He stressed that the use of ICT to develop education in Arab countries should be considered a priority. 

To ensure a successful implementation of AI in Education projects, ALECSO has launched a number of qualitative strategic initiatives, including the Arab Code Week, which aims to promote the culture of programming among young people and stimulate technological innovation, and the project to establish a unified Arab Blockchain-based certificate authentication  system. ALECSO is also working to empower youth to enter the world of Metaverse and NFTs through the ALECSO NFT Platform.  

To upgrade the performance of learners in a knowledge-based society, ALECSO will work toward expanding exchange and cooperation with relevant regional and international organizations,  as well as with colleges, universities and scientific research institutions.

Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of ICT Department at ALECSO, also took part in the Conference and offered a lecture in one of the Conference sessions.

In addition to the opening and closing ceremonies, the Conference program featured 15 forums:

A Smart Education Exhibition was held on the sidelines of the Conference to showcase the latest Smart Education products and services.
