H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, received, on August 10, 2023 at ALECSO headquarters, H.E. Ms. Mabrouka Toghy Othman, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development of the State of Libya.
The meeting discussed issues of shared interest in the cultural field.
The Director-General welcomed the Minister and her accompanying delegation, and stressed the need to further strengthen cooperation between ALECSO and Libya, including through the joint projects that Libya will host in the future.
For her part, the Minister thanked the Director-General for the warm welcome and for providing this opportunity to consult about the files that will be examined by the joint committee. She commended ALECSO’s role in promoting joint Arab action in the cultural field, and its active engagement in safeguarding the cultural heritage of Arab countries, through a significant contribution to preparing joint files for inscription on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The meeting was attended by the directors of technical departments and the delegation accompanying the Minister.
Presentations were made about the activities and programs implemented by ALECSO during the period 2023-2024.
