H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, took part, virtually, in the Workshop on the Strategic Plan for Transforming Education in Syria, held on July 12-13, 2023, under the auspices of H.E. Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, and H.E. Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim.
In his statement to the workshop, the Director-General commended the efforts of the officials and experts who prepared the strategy and are working on its implementation. He indicated that the strategy is designed to enhance the role of education in achieving sustainable development in Syria, by strengthening the abilities of Syrian youth and enabling them to acquire life and work skills. He stressed that the main goal behind transforming education is to strengthen capacity to meet crises in education, by making fundamental changes that would promote a more inclusive and equitable quality education. He concluded by affirming ALECSO’s readiness to coordinate and cooperate with the relevant Syrian ministries in order to ensure the successful implementation of the strategy.
