H.E. Mr. Deman Hamar, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Republic of Tunisia, paid a visit, on July 11, 2023, to H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO.
The meeting discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between ALECSO and Mauritania, and reviewed the programs and projects launched as part of implementing the first tranche of the Action Plan 2023-2028.
The Director-General highlighted, on this occasion, the main activities currently under way, including the implementation of the Action Plan for the coming period, the Updated Comprehensive Plan for Arab Culture, and the specialized ministerial conferences. He commended the significant level of cooperation and expertise-sharing between ALECSO and Mauritanian universities.
For his part, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation of the leading role played by ALECSO in spreading science and knowledge throughout the Arab world, as well as in promoting key strategic sectors related to education, culture, science and scientific research, and providing relevant plans and strategies for Member States. He commended the Organization’s openness to its Arab, regional and international environment, and its interest in building an enlightened Arab generation with a passion for science, entrepreneurship and innovation. He affirmed, on this occasion, his willingness to further strengthen relations between Mauritania and ALECSO, the Arab house of expertise in its fields of action.
