H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, signed, on June 9, 2023, at ALECSO headquarters in Tunis, a cooperation agreement with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA). The agreement was signed, on behalf of International IDEA, by Secretary-General Mr. Kevin Casas-Zamora.
The agreement is designed to strengthen cooperation in conducting research projects, organizing joint training programs, and holding symposiums for promoting education in the Arab countries and consolidating the culture of education on citizenship, coexistence, and peace. The agreement involves sharing expertise for the implementation of joint programs, organizing joint lectures, seminars and conferences in mutual areas of interest, and exchanging invitations to attend the activities organized by either party. The agreement also provides for establishing, preparing and implementing programs and activities on topics of shared interest that help advance citizenship education in the Arab region.
